I am the owner and teacher at Discovery Nursery School.  I graduated from Lethbridge Community College with honors in Early Childhood Education in 2006. I worked in a daycare when I graduated and then in 2007 opened a day home which I ran for 14 years. During that time, I got married to my husband Mike and we have been blessed with two daughters, Janessa, and Claire.

I enjoy planning meaningful play areas based on the children’s interests and different themes around the classroom. I love watching children have “ah-ha” moments as they learn through play.

I have a diploma in Early Childhood Education, as well as a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder and have been supporting young children and their families for over 25 years.  I believe children are lifelong learners and that early educators play an important role in building a positive foundation for learning.  I love engaging with children as they grow, explore, and gain confidence through play. One of my favorite parts of a day is spending time in sensory-rich, hands-on experiences that encourage children to explore.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy hiking, camping, and spending time with friends and family.

I have been working at Discovery for the last 3 years and have been working with children for over 30 years. I enjoy seeing the children grow through play, and their smiling faces when they complete a task that they were working on. Their excitement is the reason, I love being part of their growth.
